Nikolaikirche is Berlin's oldest church (1230), located in the middle of Nikolaiviertel, an area destroyed by World War II bombing. Renovated in the 1970s, the Gothic church is best known for the sandstone sculpture of the Spandauer Madonna (1290), as well as sacred textiles and religious sculpture from the 14th to the 16th century.
