The National Palace Museum in Taiwan is home to the world's largest and finest collection of Chinese art, with over 700,000 items of painting, calligraphy, statuary, bronzes, lacquerware, ceramics, jade and religious objects spanning 8000 years in history. About 3000 items are on display at any time. Highlights include rare Ru Ware ceramics made exclusively for royalty, bronze bells cast in the 9th century BC, the Jadeite Cabbage, the entire jade collection, and medieval artwork.
