Bondi Beach, Sydney

One of the most visited tourist sites in Australia, Bondi Beach offers the perfect trinity of sun, sand, and surf.

One of the most visited tourist sites in Australia, Bondi Beach offers the perfect trinity of sun, sand, and surf. The 1 kilometre long crescent of soft white sands along the Pacific coast are perfect for sunbathing or just relaxing with great views all around. There are flags marking designated safe swimming areas, and visitors are advised to swim within the limits. With steady gentle waves towards the northern end, Bondi is a great surfing spot for beginners. The south end has the Backpackers' Rip currents which can be dangerous. The beach is flanked by sandstone headlands, which are popular for walking, golfing and whale watching.

Campbell Parade which runs alongside the beach is lined with various popular cafes, restaurants, and hotels, including the landmark Hotel Bondi which is noted for its Italianate, Federation and Free Classical architectural elements. The Bondi Pavilion is a cultural hub that hosts art exhibitions and theatre performances.
