Sydney Explorer Red route buses start from ●Alfred Street on Circular Quay, stopping at ●Wynard Arcade near George Street, ●Queen Victoria Building, ●Town Hall, ●William Street, ●Kings Cross – the red light district with a history of crime and drugs, ●El Alamein Fountain, which stands as a memorial to soldiers who lost their lives in Egypt during World War II, ●Woolloomoolloo Bay on Sydney Harbour, ●Opera House, ●Botanical Gardens, from where you can walk to Lady Macquarie’s Chair, ●State Library in the Parliament House, ●Hyde Park, ●Australian Museum, ●Central Station for the Central Business District, ●Powerhouse Museum, ●Sydney Fish Market, ●The Star bar and casino, ●Maritime Museum, ●Convention Centre, ●Imax, ●Sea Life Aquarium, with the Tower Eye nearby, ●King Street Wharf, ●Dawes Point, and ●The Rocks - the first settlement area where Captain Cook's convicts from Britain lived after landing at Botany Bay in 1788 AD. Buses run every 15 – 20 minutes from 8.30 am to 7.30 pm in summer, and 6.30 pm otherwise.

Buses run every 30 – 45 minutes from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm in summer, and 6.30 pm otherwise.

Hop-on hop-off harbour cruises are another good way to explore the city. There are stops at ●Darling Harbour for the Aquarium and Maritime Museum, ●Circular Quay for the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and The Rocks, ●Fort Denison, ●Taronga Zoo, ●Garden Island, ●Shark Island, ●Watsons Bay, ●Luna Park, and ●Manly Beach. Ferries depart every 45 - 60 minutes.
