The Holburne Museum in the Sydney Pleasure Gardens displays a collection of fine and decorative arts built around the bequest of Sir William Holburne to the city. The original collection of 4000 objects comprising Chinese armorial porcelain, 17th - 18th century silver and porcelain, old master paintings, portrait miniatures, Italian maiolica and bronzes, books and furniture as well as smaller items including Roman glass, coins, enamels, seals, gems and snuff boxes has been coherently enhanced over the years.
