Krol Ko is a Buddhist temple built in the 12th-13th century by King Jayavarman VII. The complex has a single tower in the middle of a cross-shaped terrace and a library, surrounded by 2 layers of walls. It is speculated to have been a chapel at a hospital site, as its layout is identical to the 4 hospital chapels found outside Angkor Thom. Of particular note are the pediments on the ground, featuring reliefs such as the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara standing on a lotus surrounded by devotees and Hindu deity Krishna lifting Mount Govardhana with his little finger to give shelter to the shepherds.
