The 475-acre Blake Island State Park in Puget Sound was the birthplace of Chief Sealth, after whom Seattle is named. The marine camping park is reachable only by tour boat or private boat. It offers 5 miles of saltwater beach shoreline, along with hiking and biking trails, boating, fishing, bird-watching, and wildlife sighting. It provides unobstructed views of the Olympic Mountains and the Seattle skyline. Tillicum Village on the north-east end of the island offers a Native American experience, with cedar-plank salmon dinners and Northwest Indian tribal dance performances.
