The Museum of History and Industry at the historic Naval Reserve Armory in Lake Union Park explores the history of Seattle and the greater Puget Sound region from pre-European settlement through the rise of today's major local companies such as Boeing, Microsoft and Amazon through exhibitions and interactives. It has a collection of nearly 4 million artifacts, photographs, and archival materials, highlights being the 1919 Boeing B-1 - Boeing's first commercial plane, the Petticoat Flag - an 1856 American Flag sewn by women during the Battle of Seattle, and the Rainier Brewing Company's 12-foot tall neon "R" sign.
