San Francisco's second tallest and most famous skyscraper, Transamerica Pyramid was a contentious addition to the city's skyline when it was inaugurated in 1972, but has now been accepted as an iconic landmark. Designed by William Pereira, the 853 feet tall late Modernist building was originally the headquarters of the Transamerica Corporation but now houses other corporate across over its 48 floors in the financial district. The Visitor Center on the ground floor has displays chronicling the construction of the Pyramid and live 360? camera feeds of views from the top.
