Pier 39 is a shopping and entertainment complex on Fisherman's Wharf with over 50 specialty stores, 13 full service restaurants, theater, cruises, street performances, and several other things to do for the entire family.

  • The Aquarium of the Bay at the edge of the pier is home to 50 sharks of indigenous species from the San Francisco Bay, along with garibaldi, eels, moon jellies, sturgeons, rays, nettle, starfish and octopus. The Aquarium also runs the Sea Lion Center, where you can learn more about these cute mammals. Of course, the K-Dock outside has huge rafts of sea lions enjoying the warm waters.
  • The 7D Experience uses cutting-edge technology to recreate the thrill of a roller-coaster ride as you navigate your way around virtual environments. It also has a laser maze.
  • The Frequent Flyers bungee trampoline flips participants around up to 20 feet in the air for a heart-stopping adventure.
  • Magowan?s Infinite Mirror Maze is a labyrinth of infinite hallways, dead-ends, and never-ending loops in a psychedelic setting that takes you on a heady but fun-filled trip.
  • The San Francisco Carousel at the bay end is hand-painted with famous landmarks of the city such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower, and Alcatraz. The 2-level carousel is a hit with little kids.
  • Explore the waters of the marina on a leisurely cruise with great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. You can also sail a yacht, or zoom past the attractions on a high-speed RocketBoat.
  • There are a host of street performers lined up on the Pier, from musicians and magicians to jugglers and comedians. You can also try your hand (or more literally, legs) at creating music on the Musical Stairs.
