The DomQuartier Salzburg is a museum complex centered around the Salzburg Cathedral and Cathedral Square that showcases buildings as well as art collections. The site was the seat of power of the prince-archbishops, and offers a peak into the historical culture and politics of the region.

The DomQuartier includes –

  • Salzburg Residenz where you can explore the gorgeous state rooms that showcase art and architecture from Renaissance to Baroque and Classicism. This includes the Carabineri Saal. The adjacent Residenzgalerie (Residence Gallery) exhibits paintings from the 16th to 19th century.
  • Salzburger Barockmuseum (Salzburg Baroque Museum) with the Rossacher collection in the stuccoed rooms of the cathedral's north oratory.
  • Domorgel Tower showcasing items of the Dommuseum Salzburg (Cathedral Museum).
  • Kunst- und Wunderkammer (Cabinet of Art and Curiosities) in the Dommuseum Salzburg exhibits artifacts and art treasures spanning 1300 years.
  • Long Gallery displays religious art from the collection of the Archdiocese of St. Peter.
  • Museum of Saint Peter is the oldest monastery in the German-speaking world.
  • Franciscan Church where you can see the brilliant Gothic choir.
