La Barceloneta

  Neighbourhoods and Streets

La Barceloneta is a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella (Old City) of Barcelona that is known for its gorgeous beaches. The triangular area is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, the Moll d'Espanya of Port Vell, and the El Born neighborhood. Originally a seafaring district inhabited by fishermen, it was developed in the 18th century for the residents of La Ribera who were displaced for the Ciutadella. Today, it is a tourist hub for its beaches that are lined with seafood restaurants and tapas bars.
