Font de Canaletes, Barcelona

The ornate Canaletes Fountain in La Rambla is where Barca fans converge to celebrate their team's wins.

The ornate Canaletes Fountain in La Rambla is where Barca fans converge to celebrate their team's wins. Designed in the 19th century as a replacement for the previous 16th century fountain, the wrought-iron Font de Canaletes has golden colored taps and is crowned by a lamp-post, with a plaque below it reading - 'Si beveu aigua de la font de Canaletes sempre més sereu uns enamorats de Barcelona. I per lluny que us n'aneu. Tornareu sempre.' which translates to 'If you drink water from the Font de Canaletes you will always be in love with Barcelona. And however far away you go. You will always return.'
