Midlina, better known as the Bridge Between Continents, is a 15 metre long steel footbridge in the Reykjanes Peninsula on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, spanning the Álfagjá rift valley between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. It is also known as Leif the Lucky Bridge after explorer Leif Ericson who was the first European to have discovered North America in 1000 AD. Travelers can get a personalised certificate at the Reykjanes information centre to commemorate their visit.
