The Gunung Rinjani National Park in Lombok has the Mount Rinjani active volcano, with the brilliant blue Segara Anak crater lake in its caldera. The 3,726 m tall volcano is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire. Treks of the volcano take atleast 2 days and 1 night, and can go up 4 days. Sunrise views from top are incredible and worth the exhausting trek. The 3 day trek from Senaru to the crater rim, down to the Crater Lake then on to Sembalun Lawang is a great experience if you are in great form. The summit and lake are not always accessible, depending on volcanic activity.
