The Audubon Zoo is a great zoo for kids, with a range of fun activities and animal sightings. It is home to over 2000 animals spread over 58 acres. See zebras and pet giraffes at the African Savanna, meet Asian elephants, orangutans and tigers, attend feeding sessions of otters, and view the rare white alligators. Riverboats connect the Zoo to the Central Business District. It is also accessible from the St. Charles Streetcar via a shuttle bus that runs back and forth from the Audubon Park main entrance to the Zoo.
