Tughlaqabad Fort is a massive 14th century stone fortress built by Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq as the third city of Delhi to protect the capital from Mongol invasions. It is divided into 2 areas, with the citadel and palaces to the south and the city to the north. The Mausoleum of Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq also lies to the south, an elegant marble and red sandstone structure with inscribed panels. The monstrous ruins of this complex are now overrun by hordes of Langur monkeys.
