MOTAT showcases the history of transportation and technology in New Zealand. Built on the site of the Beam engine Pumphouse that supplied water from Western Springs Lake to Auckland residents, the museum has a wide-ranging collection of artifacts on all modes of land transport (tramways, road, rail) as well as aviation and communications.
