Many famous Munich residents, like Kurt Eisner, Duke Ludwig Wilhelm in Bavaria, Rudolph Mooshammer, and Hjalmar Schacht, are burried in the grounds. The cemetery's crematory was also used to cremate the executed Nazi war criminals found guilty in the Nuremberg Trials, von Ribbentrop, Keitel, Kaltenbrunner, Streicher, Sauckel, Jodl, Seyss-Inquart, and Göring. Their ashes were afterwards thrown into the Isar.
