BMW is the epitome of German engineering, producing some of the best-selling luxury automobiles in the world. Its headquarters is in Am Riesenfeld in Munich, adjacent to which are the BMW Welt and BMW Museum. The Welt is a flashy exhibition centre where BMW holds promotional events and delivers vehicles to customers. Entry to the Welt is free.

The salad bowl or white cauldron shaped building in the vicinity is the BMW Museum which traces the 100 year history of the company since its founding in 1916 from the rechristening of Rapp Motorenwerke. It has over 125 exhibits, including engines and turbines, aircraft, motorcycles, and vehicles which highlight the development of technology over the decades. Tickets to the museum are €10.00, with discounts for groups. 60 minute long guided tours of the museum cost €13.00 including admission for one.

The BMW Premium Tour shows you the 'Best of All Three Worlds', taking you around the Welt, Museum, and the BMW Group Plant where you can get an overview of the production processes. Guided tours of 3 h 15 min duration cost €22.00.
