The Philae Temple on Agilkia Island in the Nile river is a Ptolemaic temple dedicated to Isis, the goddess of fertility and health.

The Philae Temple on Agilkia Island in the Nile river is a Ptolemaic temple dedicated to Isis, the goddess of fertility and health. The first Pylon has 2 18-metre high towers with reliefs of Ptolemy XII, while the second Pylon leads to a hypostyle hall with 10 columns, going further to 3 antechambers which lead to the Inner Sanctuary. The stone pedestal installed by Ptolemy III remains in place, the shrines are no longer here. The mammisi (birth house) in the central courtyard is dedicated to Horus, son of Isis and Osiris.
