The Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan showcases the history of the country and the life of President Nazarbayev Nursultan Abishevich. Situated north of the Ishim river on the junction of Abai Street and Bebeishelik Street, this magnificent yurt-shaped building with an Islamic dome was the seat of power before the new presidential palace was built. Highlights include a replica of the Golden Man warrior costume decorated with over 4000 gold pieces, traditional Kazakh handicrafts, and awards and gifts received by the President from various countries.
