The iconic Bayterek Tower is a 105 m tall observation tower and monument symbolizing a Kazakh legend in which the mythical bird Samruk lays a golden egg in its nest on a tall tree of life. White metal girders branch-out from the top of the cylindrical shaft, surrounding a golden glass sphere. The base has an exhibition space, and you can take the elevator to the top for panoramic views across Astana. The deck also has a hand imprint of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev as well as a wooden globe with 17 petals signed by the representatives of world religions.
