Hop On Hop Off Tours, Milan

Milan was the soul of the Renaissance and is international hub for fashion and culture. Explore Milan at your convenience on a hop-on hop-off tour, and discover the best attractions in town. You can either take red open top double deckers which traverse 3 different road routes all across the city, or a traditional tram tour.

Buses start from Piazza Castello, each line covering different areas of the city. Tickets are valid for 48 hours.

  • Line A buses cover the city centre, running through ●Cenacolo, where you can see Da Vinci’s masterpiece ‘The Last Supper’, ●Basilica di Sant’Ambrogio, where Milan’s patron saint is buried in the crypt, and the nearby Museo della Scienza e della Technologia “Leonardo da Vinci”, ●Tortona or Solari, formerly a warehouse area but developed into a shopping and entertainment zone, ●Porta Ticinese - the former city gate, and the Navigli district with its canals, boutiques, pubs, and restaurants with al fresco dining, ●Parco Basiliche, which connects the the Basilica of San Lorenzo and the Basilica of Sant'Eustorgio, ●Sforza Castle, which houses museums, art collections, and Leonardo da Vinci's 'Codex Trivulzianus', ●Duomo Cathderal, the landmark 14th century cathedral, from where you can walk to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and ●Manzoni – Scala. Buses have a 90 minute frequency on weekdays and 45 minute frequency on weekends. During summers, the frequency is 45 minutes on weekdays and 30 minutes on weekends.
  • Line B buses ply through the centre and eastern area, covering ●Triennale, in the Palace of Art building, with the soaring Torre Branca nearby, ●Corso Como, which has an array of luxury fashion outlets, ●Palazzo Lombardia - a modern skyscraper and the seat of the local government, ●Stazione Centrale, ●Corso Buenos Aires, where you can shop till you drop at the retail outlets, ●Porta Venezia, a historical city gate, ●Duomo, ●Manzoni – Scala, and ●Brera, where you can find the excellent art collection in the Pinacoteca di Brera in the Palazzo Brera. Buses have a 90 minute frequency on weekdays and 45 minute frequency on weekends. During summers, the frequency is 45 minutes on weekdays and 30 minutes on weekends.
  • Line C buses traverse the city centre and west, stopping at ●Acquario, the civic aquarium, ●Garibaldi, ●Monumentale, the stop for the Monumental Cemetery, ●Sempione, with the Sempione Park, Sforza Castle, and Arco della Pace on the Porta Sempione nearby, ●Stadio San Siro, home ground to AC Milan and Inter Milan, and ●Conciliazione, which opens to the Reconciliation Square. Buses have a 90 minute frequency all year round.

TraMilano trams also run on 3 routes –

  • The TraMilano Touristic Line covers tourist hotspots such as the Duomo, Sforza Castle, Montenapoleone, La Scala, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Triennale and Arco della Pace or Arch of Peace.
  • The TraMilano Leonardo Line explores Leonardo’s Milan apart from the major attractions in the city centre, offering you access to the House of Leonardo, and the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana with the Biblioteca Ambrosiana where you can find the Codex Atlanticus’ volumes of drawings and writings by Da Vinci.
  • The TraMilano Shopping Line takes you to the attractions in the heart of Milan, and then to the nearby Fidenza Village, where you can enjoy hours of discount shopping for designer items.
