Bahia Palace

  Historical

The Palais de la Bahia or Bahia Palace is a sprawling 19th century palace built by Abu Ahmed in Islamic Moroccan style. The palace has 160 rooms, some of which are open to public when the royal family is away. The spectacular Grand Court has zouak (painted woodwork) ceilings and carved walls, and rooms of the harem have stained glass windows and silk panels. Sparsely furnished, but the architecture is worth seeing.
