Venice Beach, Los Angeles

Modelled after its namesake Italian city, the beachfront neighborhood of Venice in Los Angeles is known as the kooky Mecca of California.

Modelled after its namesake Italian city, the beachfront neighborhood of Venice in Los Angeles is known as the kooky Mecca of California. With canals, beaches, and an Ocean Front Walk or boardwalk bustling with performers, the funky neighborhood has an alternative feel. Venice is a cultural hub, lined with artistic buildings such as the Binoculars Building which houses Google's offices, Jane Spiller House, and Norton House. While the entire area has various entertainment venues, cafes, restaurants, and shopping outlets, the beachfront has the highest concentration of activity. The vibrant boardwalk looks like a giant artist's canvas with its quirky shop-fronts and curious murals. The stretch hosts a variety of artists, performers, soothsayers, and other entertainers.
