The RAF Museum on the Hendon Aerodrome has extensive galleries detailing the history of aviation from before the Wright brothers, the RAF and its aircraft. Spread over five buildings and hangars, there are airframes, artefacts, Avro Lancaster bombers, World War II Luffwaffe aircraft and uniforms on display. A sound and light show inside the museum focuses on the Blitz. The museum is a must visit for war buffs. To reach the RAF Museum, take bus number 303 from the Colindale tube station on the Northern Line.
