Rubenshuis on the Wapper was the home and studio of acclaimed artist Peter Paul Rubens where he stayed from 1610 till his death in 1640.

Rubenshuis on the Wapper was the home and studio of acclaimed artist Peter Paul Rubens where he stayed from 1610 till his death in 1640. Designed by Rubens in the style of an Italian palazzo, it has a monumental portico and a Baroque courtyard opening into a garden. Today it houses a museum on the life and work of the artist. Works on display include his self portrait, Adam and Eve, St Clare of Assisi, and Henry IV at the Battle of Ivry.
