The Central Museum is housed in the Indo-Saracenic style Albert Hall, named after King Albert Edward VII of England who inaugurated it.

The Central Museum is housed in the Indo-Saracenic style Albert Hall, named after King Albert Edward VII of England who inaugurated it. Originally built by Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh to be the town hall, it was made a museum by his successor Maharaja Madho Singh II. Designed by Sir Swinton Jacob, the imposing building with beautiful murals displays eclectic artifacts from the 2nd to the 19th centuries, including oil paintings, water colour portraits, miniature paintings and landscapes, carpets, ivory, stone, metal sculptures, colourful crystal works, tribal costumes, dioramas, and musical instruments.
