Casa Santo Domingo on the grounds of the Santo Domingo Monastery was once home to the order of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, but today is a hotel with museums and a chapel. The Archaeological Museum displays ceramic and stone artifacts from the Mayan Classic Period (200 – 900 AD), while the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art and Modern Glass displays Pre-Hispanic artifacts. The Colonial Museum focuses on art and culture during the colonial era which lasted from 1519 to 1821, exhibiting paintings, sculpture, and silverwork. The complex also has the Sacatepéquez Arts and Popular Handcrafts Museum or Silver Museum, Pharmacy Museum, Jades Museum, Chapel of our Lady of the Rosary and a Pottery and Wax Workshop.
