Cruises & Water Tours, Amsterdam

Amsterdam's concentric network of 165 canals stretches up to 100 km and offers a great alternative way to see the city on a cruise. On the banks of both the IJ Bay and the Amstel river headwaters, Amsterdam’s intensive waterways have earned it the epithet of ‘Venice of the North’. The canal district is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and most of the enchantingly crooked mansions and townhouses along the canals are now inhabited by eclectic stores and engaging galleries. During winter, if the canals freeze, they are converted into skating rinks.

You can choose from one of the several canal cruises of varying durations in glass-topped, heated boats, or take a harbor cruise along the port and IJ Bay to see the waterfront attractions.
