The Geneva Conservatory and Botanical Garden is spread over 28 hectares on the banks of Lake Geneva.

The Geneva Conservatory and Botanical Garden is spread over 28 hectares on the banks of Lake Geneva. It was founded in 1817 by Augustin Pyramus de Candolle originally in the Bastions Park, and was transferred in 1904 to its present location which was designed by Henri Juvet to house the Benjamin Delessert herbarium collection of 300,000 specimen from around the world. The Botanical Garden's Herbarium presently houses a collection of 6 million samples, making it one of the largest of its kind in the world. The complex includes gardens designed by Jules Allemand, greenhouses, an arboretum, rock garden, zoo, and the Botanicum. It also has the Villa La Console from the Ariana Park, and the Villa Le Chêne.
