The Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern in Doha has the largest collection of Arab modern and contemporary art in the region, with more than 9,000 artworks representing the major trends from the 1840s to the present day. It showcases works across various media such paintings, sculptures, sketches, installations and videos. Highlights include Jewad Selim’s Baghdadiat, Sliman Mansour's Jerusalem and Perseverance and Hope, Ala Bashir's Dialogue of Consciousness, Ibrahim el-Salahi's Qatar-London series, Dia Azzawi's Majnun Layla, and Mahmoud Moukhtar’s The Nile.
